Old Navy Credit Card Benefits

Fans of Old Navy and other Gap brands will like the Old Navy Visa Card from Synchrony Bank, which offers appealing rewards for future purchases.

The Old Navy Visa Card is perfect for consumers who shop at Old Navy and the other Gap brands regularly (Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta, Hill City, and Gap-brand outlet and factory stores.)

You can use the card everywhere Visa is accepted, but the true rewards are found at the participating retailers. Simply said, for every $100 you spend online or in-store, you’ll receive $5 toward a future purchase.

Remember that not all candidates will be approved for the Visa card, which is likely to necessitate a strong credit history.

The Old Navy Visa® Credit Card offers rewards and unique privileges for loyalists of these companies, but there are some hazards to be aware of.

Here’s what you need to know.

Earn Rewards at Gap

On purchases at Gap Inc. products, both the Old Navy Credit Card and the Old Navy Visa® Card receive 5 points every $1. Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta, Hill City, Gap Factory, and Banana Republic Factory are among the brands included.

Other qualified purchases earn 1 point per $1 with the Old Navy Visa® Card. You get 5% back on purchases at Gap Inc. brands because points are worth $0.01 apiece.

If you achieve 5,000 points in a calendar year, you’ll be elevated to the Navy Credit Card or the Navy Visa® Card, which comes with a 20% bonus point every quarter and other benefits. You’d be getting 6 points each $1 spent at Old Navy and other Gap Inc. businesses.

Redeem Rewards at Gap

You may usually only use a store credit card to redeem rewards at that retailer. With the Old Navy Credit Card, you have additional alternatives, as you may use your points at any Gap Inc. brand.

Regardless, the prizes on this card are still limited, which is a disadvantage. You’re stuck when you don’t have anything you wish to buy.

You have the option of letting your rewards sit idle or selecting something purely to redeem your points, neither of which is a good idea.

While you’ll earn points for every purchase, prizes are given in $5 (500 points) increments up to $50. (5,000 points). You can only earn a total of $250 in incentives every month. If you have more points than that, they will be carried over to the next month.

If you haven’t used your card in the last 24 months, any points you haven’t converted into redeemable rewards will expire. They’ll expire on the date specified on the reward certificate once they’ve been converted.

Earn Extra Points

Every dollar spent at Old Navy and its affiliated stores earns you 5 points, with 500 points equaling a $5 payout. You’ll also get 1 point for every $1 spent at grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and other merchants. Because this rewards rate is lower than that of many general rewards credit cards, it’s a good deal (but common among store-branded credit cards).

Providing your email address, which allows you to sign up for Gap Inc. brand updates and offers. Completing these tasks will give you 1,000 points, which can be exchanged for a $10 gift card at Gap Inc. stores.

Pros

  • Your first Old Navy purchase will receive a 20% discount.
  • Gap Inc. brands earn 5 points for every dollar spent.
  • Early access to deals and exclusive offers

Cons

  • No yearly fee
  • Only Gap Inc. branded stores are eligible for rewards.
  • Before you can get the point bonus and free shipping, you must first earn 5,000 points.

Security Features

The security elements on the Old Navy Visa Card are common in the credit card industry. Fees to be aware of there are no fees on the Old Navy Visa Card that aren’t in line with what you’d anticipate from a store credit card. Purchases made outside of the United States are subject to a 3% fee, and cash advances are subject to a 5% cost ($10 minimum).

The steep APR is the most important thing to remember. To prevent incurring a high-interest rate, make it a mission to pay your account in full each month.
